About Me

Filmmaker. Creator. Visionary.
Emily Vail is from Atlanta, Georgia and attends the film school at California State University, Northridge (CSUN) in Los Angeles, California. CSUN's film production program was ranked in The Hollywood Reporter's top 25 film schools in 2020. 

Emily has a primary interest in post-production and just finished a summer internship with FotoKem, one of the world's most renowned post-production houses and motion picture film labs. She gained this experience through her participation in the Academy Gold Rising program which promotes diversity within the entertainment industry. 

Emily has experience in post-production for a variety of genres ranging from YouTube vlogs to short melodramas. She has experience with the Adobe Creative Cloud suite and is in the process of learning AVID Media Composer and Pro Tools. 

Emily has a secondary interest in Assistant Directing and has maintained experience within this field and other realms of on-set production. She was the 1st Assistant Director on "Taliban Flower" which was a short film made by her peer and friend Sofia Ayerdi. She was also the 2nd Assistant Director on two CSUN Senior Thesis films that are in post-production and shot in September 2021. 


Emily thrives in fast paced, collaborative environments and can multitask while still delivering a product that is captivating, detailed, and seamless. 

She is available for freelance and contract jobs/internships that are based in Los Angeles, CA or Atlanta, GA.
